Guide how to choose skis

This is the guide of the ski:

To choose the ski more suitable to our characteristics, we have to ask ourselves some fundamental questions bring us to the category, and the ski is more congenial to our needs.

What is the curve that I prefer? Wide-range or short-range?

I prefer the hard snow/compact or the snow was soft and powdery (even off the track)?

I prefer a ski that guarantees me the stability or a ski that will give me handling?

I want one ski comfortable (I can ski all day without tiring), or more powerful?

After you have answered these simple questions, we can figure out which macro-category we belong to be able to choose the correct equipment.

RACE CARVING
Skiing suitable for skiers of good level, who like a skiing aggressively and slopes with packed snow or ice.

He has a soul, more rigid, usually wooden. Are divided into ski short radius bend, long radius curve.

The ski short radius is recommended for those who like tight corners, the measurement of the ski should be from 5 to 10 cm less than the height of the person, up to a maximum of 20 cm less.

The ski long-range, suitable for those who love speed and sweeping curves, it should be taken with a measure that varies from the same height of the subject up to 10 cm more.(if you are very heavy or you want more aggressiveness).

ALLROUND

And’ the ski more versatile, that is suitable for both skiing conduct, to skiing in the drift.

Has a soul more soft and can be of different types of material.

It is a ski softer than the race carving, forgiving easily any errors.

The ski varies according to the level of the skier, here you can find a ski for beginners, that have structures which are more soft in order to facilitate the entrance into the turn and the run, and ski with a more rigid structure (more experienced skiers) that provide greater aggressiveness and high-speed stability.

For the measurement, it is recommended for beginners or average level of 5 to 10 cm less than the height.

For more experienced skiers, we recommend a measurement equal to the height of the subject, or slightly higher.

ALL MOUNTAIN
And’ one ski with features similar to the all-round, but more broad (especially in the central part), and sometimes even softer.

The greater width allows for a natural buoyancy on fresh snow, allowing skiing off-piste more comfortable, but, thanks to the fitted waists and can be safely used on the track.

Ideal for those who wants to have fun both on the track and off the track.

The measures suggested are the same as the ski allround.

FREERIDE
The ski is very wide, suitable for those who love the off-piste and the snow is fresh and powdery.

The freeride ski has a ROCKER decidedly accented, which allows for changing the direction of the best in the fresh snow.

Ill-suited to groomed trails. The measures vary by the needs and characteristics of the subject: from the same height for those who want to handling up to 10 cm more for those who want more stability.

GLOSSARY

- Sidecut: the shape of the ski which determines the radius of the curve. The greater the difference between the tip, center and tail, the smaller will be the radius of the curve. The radius of the curve given is purely theoretical, because calculated in a static manner, but makes us understand what kind of skiing we're buying (wide, or short-range);

- The soul: it is the internal structure of the ski may be of wood, with layers of titanal ski more technical, or synthetic materials, usually soft, the ski is easy;

- Rocker: it is the characteristic of all skis new concept, that is, the bending of the ski in the part of the tip(race carvers, all-mountain and all-round) and tip and tail(all-mountain freeride). In this last case, we will call twin tip rocker. The rocker allows for a greater ease in entrance in the curve.
