Moisture and heat escape through the GORE-TEX® membrane into the open "spacer" structure and from there exit the shoe through the side vents. The result is faster sweat expulsion, keeping feet dry and comfortable even at higher temperatures.

I ventilation channels on the midsole of La Sportiva Stream GTX Shoes they are protected by one nylon net very resistant to prevent dirt and pebbles from entering.
These holes are integrated into the Stability Control System, a anti-torsion system which makes the use of the Stream GTX.
