The fabric Salewa Powertex is a highly breathable, waterproof and wind, water-repellent and abrasion-resistant. at the same time, is lightweight, soft and comfortable to wear. During physical activity the membrane Powertex carries sweat to the surface reducing internal condensation and favoring the evaporation.
Next to the membrane known as GORE-TEX or Dermizax, there are other laminates impermeable to water and wind developed by individual companies for sports and outdoor activities, such as the Ptx of Salewa. The Ptx is available in versions with 2, 2.5 and 3 layers. These layers identify how it is applied to the membrane in the garment.
In a Powertex jacket three layers, the membrane is glued to the surface and inner lining, to form a single layer weather resistant. If the membrane on the inner side is only covered by a thin protective layer, then we are dealing with a jacket, 2.5-layer. If only the surface and the membrane are glued together, and the lining is 'free', we then speak of a jacket, 2 layers.
The clothing made from Salewa Powertex is ideal for multiple activities in the mountains. Water column and breathability will change depending on the laminate type.
