How to choose a carp fishing hook
You don't know how to choose the hook to be right for your catch? Read the next few lines, this is the guide to choose the I love Carp Fishing!
Frames, and more particularly terminals, are among the topics most discussed among carp anglers. Of the rest, it is not difficult to understand why: from what we attack at the end of the line depends on the result of our catch.
And the love, in this sense, is the most important element because it is the accessory that allows us to “make our own” the prey: if the hook breaks, why is undersized, or if we mistake the relationship between this and the bait, the result is the so-called “coat”.
We will try to dissect the argument, starting from the presentation of the elements that “describe” a hook, so that the newcomer can purchase the product knowing all the features on the market, and then describe how to choose the hook according to the bait and, finally, to make practical examples in which many of the fishermen are able to recognize.
THE FUNDAMENTAL ELEMENTS
In general, to describe a I love to you use some points of reference which, compared to, allow us to distinguish one model from another. These are:
- Eye: is the “high part”, that is, the point which is the knot for joining the line to the hook;
- The stem (or back): in English, “shank”, is the stretch that goes from the eyelet at the beginning of the sagging;
- The curveis that which gives the form true to the love, or the “fold” of the metal;
- Tip;
- Buckle: small “whisker” of metal that allows the hook to set in the mouth of the prey. Some of the models I love are “barbless”, that is without a tongue;

We analyze, now, one by one, the elements, and the variations of them that are on the market.
EYE
The first hooks carp fishing had the eyelet in line with the back of the hook, and were called “eye straight”. The evolution of the technique over the years and some specific needs have led to three well-defined categories.
- I love eyelet straight: a “classic” that never sets, with the flagship in perfect line with the back. For those who start is the love ideal, because it allows us to do everything from rig simple to the more complex ones (in which we can change the shape of the hook with the tubes of silicone and heat shrink tubing). BACK
Also in this case, we can simplify the explanation by using three categories:
- Short shank: between the tip and the eye space is very little. The models from carp fishing with this type of back are used only to build rig specific;
- Stem medium: the most commonly used because they are more versatile. You can use either to end with the hair rig hard to the end with a hair rig is mounted on a ring sliding;
- Long stem: in English, the “long shank”; they are very fond of details that have the value of “turn” very quickly as soon as the fish sucks in the bait, but have defect, the weakness in the seal during the fight.
CURVE

THROAT

THREAD
Is the index that tells us how powerful a love. The hooks to the big wire are just... big, or made with a metal of a greater diameter to withstand considerable effort.

THE RATIO OF HOOK-BAIT
In addition to the situations of fishing and the type of frame, there is an element that is the decisive, most of the first two, in the choice of the type of love and its dimensions.
In choosing the measure of love, in fact, can not leave from the relationship between the hook, that has to sting, and the bait, which must entice the fish to eat.

Because the bait and the size of the hook are important?
The reason is called “shadow effect”, and it is the one situation in which the bait is too big, and with its mass prevents the I love to go to when the carp sucks in the bait.
Think of a bait by 24 millimeters, which is considered to be “great”, with a hook of 6 (small): how can a love so tiny, go into the mouth of the carp if the mass of the bait in motion the “covers”? That's why, then, choose the right size of the hook in relation to the bait is important.

PRACTICAL EXAMPLES
